It was great opportunity to showcase our Bhutanese culture to group of ten enthusiastic students and two esteemed professors from Edith Cowan University (ECU) who came for exchange program all the way from Australia. Their stay here with Samtse College of Education family was pleasing and memorable one.

Samtse tsechu

  Bhutan is known for its unique culture and tradition to others among which the tsechu festival is one. It was amazing to attend the tsechu in Samtse for three days. I can only imagine how enchanting it was to witness the mesmerizing mask dances and beautiful ladies dancing on the ground. And receiving blessings from the lama has added such a spiritual touch to my experience. Interacting with different people and seeing everyone come together created a sense of unity and joy among Bhutanese people.

  Studying the Development of Bhutanese Education taught me important lessons about the importance of holistic education and the integration of traditional values and modern education. One of the most important lessons I learned was the importance of supporting the health and well-being of students. Bhutan’s approach recognizes that education is not only about academic achievement but also about personal development and well-being. This combination equips students with not only the knowledge and skills, but also the values and attitudes they need to lead successful lives.
